We are seeking an individual to provide building energy analysis, documentation, and/or field inspection of project energy efficiency and/or green features for construction projects undergoing the permit process.
Applicants should possess knowledge of building systems, energy efficiency, green building and sustainability. The consultant will work collaboratively with clients and other team members to provide analysis and consultation on energy efficiency and sustainability in building construction. We are seeking someone with the ability to ask questions, solve problems and complete projects in a timely and efficient manner.
Key responsibilities include:
Application of knowledge and understanding of California Title 24 residential energy code and field testing methods utilizing energy modeling applications and spreadsheets;
Conducting field visits to verify compliance with applicable energy and green building regulations;
Preparation of CALGreen checklists, inspection documentation and plan review.
Required Education or Experience:
Education or experience in construction technology, energy management, environmental or other related field;
Required Skills:
The ability to read plans and interpret regulations regarding energy and green features;
The discipline and ability to prioritize one’s workload to meet clients’ project needs and schedules;
Basic knowledge of building systems, energy efficiency technologies and green building practices;
Oral and written communications skills;
Computer skills in MS Office Suite;
Team oriented, hands on, adaptive, and client focused.
Preferred Skills:
Experience within the building industry related to analysis of energy efficiency and green building;
Experience with energy modeling techniques and tools related to energy efficiency;
Knowledge of energy efficiency or green building programs.
