Since its founding in 1980, Soldata has helped Californians save millions of dollars on energy costs and the associated environmental impact. Soldata’s owners Sarah Pernula and Sean Plikuhn together offer over 50 years of energy consulting experience in achieving or exceeding energy conservation and green building requirements set by the State of California.

Soldata’s goal is to provide clients with cost effective solutions to maximize energy performance and sustainability for their properties, whether it is for a small addition or large affordable housing projects, a school or commercial development. We work with architects, designers, engineers, and owners to help them reach compliance with city and county ordinances enacted in enforcement of the state energy code.

We review every possible compliance option and offer practical, accurate energy solutions that will help optimize project design criteria and avoid unnecessary construction expenses. In addition to offering feedback and advice to improve energy efficiency and comfort, we prepare comprehensive compliance reports for building department approval.  As green consultants, we prepare the permitting documentation and explain the extent of green code requirements, and provide on-site inspection services as construction progresses.

If issues arise during construction, we make direct contact with local building departments to assist in reaching the desired resolution. We are also available for consultation with contractors and subcontractors to assist in resolving energy code questions during construction.

Soldata consultants are certified by California Association of Building Energy Consultants (CABEC) for both residential and non-residential energy code compliance. Certifications also include Build It Green, LEED, HERS and BPI.

Soldata is located in Santa Rosa, California and serves clients throughout the state and across the U.S.
